A Sailor Romance

I decided not to end the story at Momoko’s birth and continue the story with the battle with Queen Beryl. It’s been Nine months since the last attack and now Zoicite is going after the rainbow crystals to locate the silver crystal so let’s begin from the first episode of the rainbow crystal saga. I hope all of you like it!

Chapter Thirteen A: Rainbow Crystals

A few days later Serena and Momoko were released from the hospital, both of them were in great health.
Serena smiled as she stood out on the balcony staring at the sky as the stars twinkled in the sky. She closed her eyes and reflected what happened over the past few months…she had been thrown out of her house, almost lost her friends, found out that her boyfriend was a jerk and now had a child that she loved more than life itself.
“Serena?”
Serena turned around and saw Luna standing behind her. “Yes? What is it?” she heard the sound of Momoko’s wailing, she immediately took off towards the nursery as she picked Momoko up. “Its ok mommy’s here.”
Momoko’s crying turned into small sniffles as she looked up at her mommy with big brown eyes.  
Serena walked over to the changing table and sat Momoko down as she began to change her diaper.  “You needed to be changed didn’t you sweety?” she asked sweetly as she finished changing her and picked her up. “Guess what today we get to spend time with Aunty Molly.
“Serena we also have a scout meeting today.” Luna said. “Artemis detected that the Negaverse is after the seven rainbow crystals.”
Serena froze for a second as she turned around. “What? The Negaverse is still attacking?” She began to fear for Momoko’s safety. “I can’t let them destroy the Earth…I want Momoko to grow up to have a bright future.”
Luna nodded in understanding as she left the room. “Serena has grown up a lot from the first time she began fighting the Negaverse.”

“Of the seven rainbow crystals two have been taken by meddlesome outsiders and only one is in my hands and three of the great seven monsters have already been defeated. Queen Beryl said. “Zoicite, how do you intend to take responsibility for this?”
Queen Beryl, please grant me a short period of grace.” Zoicite said bowing to Queen Beryl; he summoned the dark crystal as an image of a girl with glasses appeared. “This is the next target; I shall obtain the next rainbow crystal at the cost of my own life.”
Queen Beryl narrowed her eyes. “I assume you know what will happen if you fail?”
Zoicite nodded. “Yes, my Queen…”

Serena arrived at the art gallery with Momoko in her stroller. “Sorry I am late Molly!”
Molly gave her friend a smile. “It’s ok Serena I know that you are busy now.” She said leaning down to say hello To Momoko who was happily looking around. “Hi there Momoko!”
Momoko squealed happily.
Serena walked into the art gallery with Molly looking around at the painting. “Wow! These are so pretty!” she said.
“I know aren’t they romantic!” Molly said as her eyes filled with hearts. “I would love to own one of these paintings.”
“I’d love to own one of these paintings!” Serena said. “It would look good in my bedroom.”
“You know what Serena if you did buy one of these painting that all your dreams would come true?” Molly asked.
Serena gasped out. “I want to plaster my walls with them!” She said dreamily.
They walked over to another side of the gallery where a painting of a girl with long blonde hair pulled back in a bow was.
“This one looks like you Sere.” Molly said.
“I wish,” Serena said. “But her hair isn’t anywhere nice as mines.”
“You know I heard that the artist who painted these pictures is really shy,” Molly said. “She never even comes to her own exhibitions.”
“If I painted this well I wouldn’t be able to stay away.” Serena said.
“You do like to be the center of attention.” Molly said.
Serena began to giggle. “That is true.” She said as they continued walking through the gallery. Neither of them noticed a girl with brown hair and glasses walking around looking at the different couples.
“It’s hopeless I’ll never find the models that I am looking for…” The girl said as she stopped walking to listen in on the conversation between Serena and Molly.
“You know it’s too bad she won’t come to her shows I’d really like to meet her.” Molly said. “But then again she may not really look like that.”
Serena nodded in agreement as she walked around the art gallery. A painting caught her eye as she gasped out. “That looks like…”
“You know that looks like you and Darien.” Molly said walking over. “Don’t you agree?”
Serena nodded; she couldn’t take her eyes off the painting until Momoko let out a loud wail. “Oh Momoko what’s wrong?” she picked up the crying child as she tried to soothe her.
Momoko continued to wail as Serena desperately tried to find out what was wrong, Serena began to try to calm her down but it was no use.

Outside the art gallery Darien stopped walking when he saw the same poster of the picture that had captivated Serena’s interest. “Wow, she looks really familiar…” he said as he began to think about the girl that started appearing in his dreams. “It can’t be...”
The door to the gallery opened as the girl with glasses walked out just as Darien turned and got ready to walk off, the two of them collided.
“Sorry.” Darien said as he leaned down to help the girl pick up her things. “Oh wow I am really sorry.”
The girl put back on her glasses as she let out gasp. “It’s you!” She cried out in shock. “I don’t believe it!”
“Huh?” Darien wondered.
Serena walked out the art gallery carrying Momoko whom was still crying. “Maybe when we get home a nice warm bath and a nap will help.” She said trying to soothe the child, she looked up and saw Darien and the girl together. “Huh?”
“Please pose for me!” The girl begged pulling on Darien’s arm.
“Pose for what?” Darien questioned. “Are you some kind of lunatic or something?”
“Oh no…my name is…” The girl went quiet. “I am a local artist.”
Serena walked over to Darien. “There you are, I was looking for you.” She said.
“What’s wrong with Momoko?” Darien asked noticing that the baby was crying.
“I don’t know…she just started crying…” Serena said. “She isn’t hungry or wet…I am not sure what to do.”
Darien gave her a smile as he held up Momoko’s pacifier. “Here you left this at home.” He said.
Serena put the pacifier in Momoko’s mouth as she began to calm down. “You found her pacifier.”
The girl stared at them with interest. “Excuse me...I know this may sound very forward I need your help.” She said. “I need you to model for me.”
“What?!” Serena cried out. “Me model!?”

They arrived at the address that the artist had given them; Serena stepped on the porch as she rang the doorbell.
“Great you’re right on time;” Said the girl as she led them in the house. “Just make yourselves at home.”
“Wow this place is amazing!” Serena said as she looked around the house, she was holding Momoko in her arms. “Look at the pretty flowers Momoko.”
The baby squealed out happily as Serena began to look around more through the house.
“Is this going to take long?” Darien questioned. “I have an exam to study for.”
“Oh come on Darien,” Serena said as she handed Momoko to Darien. “It’ll be like the days you used to model.”
Darien sweat dropped. “Your mommy is silly right Momo?” he said as Momoko began to chew on the front of her dress.
“Wow…these paintings are like the ones I saw at the gallery earlier!” Serena gasped as she turned to face the artist. “Are you related to Loni Lanai?”
“Well actually…Loni Lanai is someone I made up,” the artist admitted.  “When I first started out I used my name Peggy Jones, but I bombed.”
“But don’t you think it’s bad that no one knows the real you?” Serena questioned.
“As long as they like what I do, then it’s ok.” Peggy explained as she smiled.
Serena sat down next to Darien as she smiled.
Peggy pulled out her sketching equipment as she began to get right to work on the sketch.

“Wow, that’s so pretty!” Serena cried out. “The scene is so calm and sweet.”
Peggy smiled proudly. “It wasn’t only me,” she said. “You three made the scene really perfect as well; I’ll finish this tonight and then send you both a copy.”
Serena squealed out happily, she knew that when she got home she’d have to tell Molly about it. “I can’t wait to see it in color!”
Peggy smiled as she led Serena and Darien to the door. “Thanks again!” She said cheerfully.
“No problem!” Serena said with a smile as she waved goodbye, she didn’t notice her crescent moon wand going off.
